about rda glasgow
Volunteers
The RDA Glasgow Group is currently supported by nearly 200 volunteers. Through the commitment of these volunteers the RDA enables people with disabilities to ride or carriage drive to benefit their health and wellbeing and to achieve their goals.

The volunteers are vital in helping during the lessons, but they are also involved in gardening, yard
work and general maintenance.

A particularly disabled rider may require up to three helpers: one to lead the horse and two side walkers who have a
supportive role.

Can you help?
To become a volunteer for the RDA, Glasgow Group, you do not need experience working with horses. We are looking for people that can give a little time each week to contribute to running the centre.
The only stipulation is that you must be 14 or over to help on the yard and 16 or over to help with the lessons. We need people who want to share in the fun and excitement and be part of the environment that bring horses and people together for such great benefit.

Instructors
We also have a dedicated team of instructors, that work on a purely voluntary basis. The instructors are specifically trained to work with a wide variety of riders.
Staff
The establishment is run by a dedicated team of office and yard staff. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the centre.
